| Category | Goal | Foundation specialization |
|---|---|---|
| Foundation Program (1st year) | The main objective of the Foundation Programme is to equip students with the fundamental knowledge required for successful undergraduate education. During this stage, students study the basics of information technology and business. | Fundamentals of Computer Science and Business |
| Bachelor's Degree (After Foundation) | Students proceed to in-depth study in high-demand digital fields. | Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Data Science |
Main Exam: ICAT
The main requirement for admission to IDU is the successful completion of the ICAT (International Common Admission Test). This is a standardised test designed to assess your readiness for studying at our university.

IELTS Score Requirements
For admission to IDU Foundation programmes, certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, or SAT are accepted. The minimum required score may vary depending on the selected programme:
| Foundation Programme | Minimum IELTS overall band score* |
|---|---|
| Foundation | 5.0 or 5.5 or above |
* Minimum admission requirements (including IELTS overall and section-specific requirements, for example Writing 5.5, as well as conditions for exemption from the Mathematics exam) may change annually.
Applicants should always check the most up-to-date Admission Rules and requirements on the official IDU website or contact the Admissions Committee directly.
Exam Exemption
- If your IELTS score meets the minimum requirements, you are exempt from taking the English ICAT entrance exam.
- However, to apply for a grant, you will still be required to take internal exams in English and Mathematics.
Scholarships (Grants)
IDU offers academic scholarships of 30%, 50%, and 70% for incoming students. Even if an applicant holds an IELTS certificate (which exempts them from the English exam), they must still take the internal ICAT examination in mathematics and English to qualify for a scholarship. The required scores are: 30% scholarship - minimum 70 points in mathematics and 70 points in English. 50% scholarship - minimum 80 points in mathematics and 80 points in English. 70% scholarship - minimum 90 points in mathematics and 90 points in English. Thus, the higher the applicant’s score on the internal exam, the higher the scholarship percentage they may qualify for.
| Grant Level | Mathematics (ICAT) | English (ICAT) |
|---|---|---|
| 30% Grant | Minimum 70 points | Minimum 70 points |
| 50% Grant | Minimum 80 points | Minimum 80 points |
| 70% Grant | Minimum 90 points | Minimum 90 points |
